Marty Pratt – Senior Engineer & Co-Founder.
With 25+ years in heavy earth-moving and precision engineering, Marty co-founded Chase Surface Engineering to deliver unmatched quality, speed, and reliability. His career began with a Cert III in Fitting and Turning at Hastings Deering, where he specialised in Caterpillar powertrain rebuilds, failure analysis, and technical reporting.
Marty is highly skilled across manual and CNC machining (Siemens, Mazak), rotary grinding, arc spray, and laser cladding — with experience turning diameters up to 900mm and lengths to 33.5m. Known for spotting faults others miss, he safeguards customers from costly downtime by restoring components to (or beyond) OEM standards.
Hands-on and customer-focused, Marty leads Chase with a commitment to fast, precise outcomes.
